Where is the hog cooked?
The Hog is cooked on the hog roaster at our premises and then transferred to the event.
Can you Serve in doors?
Yes. We can serve inside and frequently do so in function rooms, if the hog roast fits (the size of the hog roaster is 1m wide by 2.3m long).
If we are required to be outside then this must be confirmed at booking, so we can bring our self-contained gazebo.
How long does a Hog take to cook?
A hog takes 6-9 hours, depending on size.
A lamb takes 2-4 hours, depending on size.
What do I need to provide?
For a hog roast we will need an area of 10ft square.
We will need a 13amp power supply directly to the service point and also availability to hot water.
2 Trestle tables to serve food from.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We have full public liability insurance, available on request.
Are you Registered with Environmental Health?
Yes, we are, available on request.
Do you have Food Hygiene Certificates?
Yes, we do, available on request.
Where do you buy your hog, lamb, rolls etc from?
We only use local suppliers from in and around Malpas, Cheshire.
How many people will it feed?
Hogs come in different sizes.
- A 40kg (100lb) hog, feeds 75-100 people.
- A 50kg (125lb) hog, feeds 125-150 people.
- A 60kg (150lb) hog, feeds 150-200 people.
Do you just do the hog roast?
No, we can cater for salads, desserts and Cheshire Farm Ice creams if required.
What happens if it rains?
The weather has no impact on our service as we can provide our own self contained gazebo.
If I only have 20 people can I still have a hog?
Yes but obviously it works out a little more expensive per head.
How many people can you cater for?
We can cater for up to 650 people.
Terms and Conditions.
All bookings are confirmed upon receipt of a 25% deposit.
Deposits are a non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
Should the date of a booking change, we will endeavour to accommodate the booking on the new date but with no obligation.
Balance payable in full 14 days prior to the event.
If the final number of guests is different to the number in the original quotation, we reserve the right to revise the price accordingly.
Hog Roast
We will require access to the site and supply of power One and a Half hours prior to service.
Service is one and a half hours from the Service Start time stated on the Order Form after which time the chef will need to pack up and leave. Should this not be sufficient please ask for an extension (extra charge).
When at venue a Contact name and number will be required at all times.
Access to venue will be required prior to event.
Electrical Supply
The Client is responsible for the provision of 13amp power and electrical leads for the supply of power for equipment, lighting will be required.
Should the loss of power occur, we will not be held responsible for loss of cooking time and or the ability to provide a finished meal.
Staffing Policy
Our staff are committed to providing a responsible and professional service at all times, should any members of staff be physically or verbally abused during the course of service - we reserve the right to leave immediately and without recompense for any loss of service.
